HAPPY NEW YEAR & RESOLUTIONS
Posted by STELLA

We are bringing in the new year here at Halloween Adventure/ Masquerade Costumes Times Square in style!! I brought a little nip of some Jager to get the festivities started AFTER we close. (Is anybody from corporate reading this?) Albert and I are hustling all the party wear and especially confetti. The funny thing is that nobody wants to buy the confetti because nobody wants to clean it up. I guess New Yorkers don't own vacuum cleaners or brooms. I just don't get it! Also there is this HUGE RUSH on Mardi Gras masks and Flapper costumes. I guess those are the big theme parties of the New Year.

Who knew?

Last year I brought in the new year in CT at an empty summer camp and slept in the bunk beds in the cabins. That was fun! We had a fire pit and everything.

THIS YEAR, I am hitting up Times Square for the FIRST time in my life during NYE! I've never personally watched the ball drop, although I did see the ball in person while it was on display last Christmas in Macy's. It's pretty awesome!

I so super psyched about this that I've decided to recycle my hat from last year (see pic below, I'm on the right) AND get all the appropriate accoutrement (horns, confetti, tasty chapstick for my big kiss moment at the strike of 12, etc.)

But lets TALK about RESOLUTIONS!
This year I resolve to not buy more than ONE lottery scratch off a day. My obsession is getting expensive. And the obvious RESOLVE to GO TO THE GYM! I lost 20lbs this summer and I'm slowly gaining it all back. OY VEY! Next is my resolve to work more in the film and tv industry. But I shouldn't talk about that... I simply LOVE my job as the store manager of Masquerade Costumes! And the very last resolution is to BUY an apartment in MANHATTAN! Yep.... I'm all grown up. ugh. HAPPY 2009!!!

Holiday shopping! Oy Vey!
Posted by: STELLA

Time is running out and even I have not finished my holiday shopping! What to buy for the person who has everything??

I've assembled some pretty awesome gift baskets here at the store and some truly fantastic little gift bags. But I think a few people will be getting the extremely cool and totally unnecessary but ridiculously cheap potato gun, complete with a small sack of potatoes. Top em with a bow and you've given your secret santa something cooler than that lame Jane in HR gave you.

Or you could always buy your sweet heart one of these..... like my sweet heart bought for me. <3

by the way, have you seen our Holiday video greeting???

We've got all sorts of Gift Baskets and Goodie Bags, for the creative funny snarky person in your life.

500 Drunken Santas Anybody??
Posted by: Stella

Have you ever heard of SantaCon? NO? Have you been hiding under a rock?

SantaCon is the largest gathering of folks dressed as Santa or other festive holiday characters that parade around NYC (or in a city near you) and also bar hop all day and all night long. check out the SantaCon website for more info on a SantaCon near you. The NYC SantaCon is this weekend, Saturday December 13th.

This is me, Stella Sensel (store manager) at SantaCon 2005.

Unfortunately I have to work at the store this Saturday so I will be missing out on the debauchery again this year, BUT I will be dressed in the appropriate festive attire. And will possibly take part in my my own sort of debauchery *wink wink* So stop on by the store! Mention SantaCon and get $10 off your purchase of $20 or more. It's worth it. Especially if you end up spending $50 on a Santa suit or even more worth it if you only end up spending $20 on accessories.

Call me at the Store 212-247-0104
